St. Augustine’s has these four outstanding choirs, supporting the parish in its liturgical worship. Participants not only have this opportunity to serve in this way, but to develop and grow in their gift of music.

Reader

Lay Readers proclaim God’s Word
at all the Sunday Mass,
weekday Mass, and other occasions.

 

New Readers are given training for this service at St. Augustine’s as needed. It is open to all beginning with those of Highschool age.

Minister of the Eucharist

Ministers of the Eucharist serve
at all Sunday and weekday Masses
and when called upon for special occasions.

Eucharistic Ministers receive a mandate from the Bishop. Training at St. Augustine’s is given, and assignments via a schedule.

Altar Server

Altar Servers, boys and girls, serve
at all Sunday and weekday Masses,
wedding and funeral Masses
and when called upon for special occasions.

Servers can begin when they are in the fourth grade. They receive initial training at the church, after which they begin serving with other experienced servers. A schedule of assignments is given to all.

Ushers

Ushers serve at all the weekend Masses
as well as seasonal Masses
and special occasions.

Children’s Liturgy

Children’s Liturgy Program is for children in ECE to Grade 2 (Children must be 4 years old)
Sundays at the 9 am Mass
From October – May

The program offers interesting activities and stories to bring the Gospel message to the children at a level they will understand. The program relies on volunteers in order to continue. We ask that parents help out during the year.
