Karen Kiely
Coordinator
I have been a parishioner at St. Augustine Parish for 41 years, along with my husband, Sean. I have volunteered for over 25 years as a cantor, and for many years, with Sean, in the marriage preparation ministry. I volunteered at St. Bernadette school for 18 years; much of that work was helping with school masses, school Mass choirs, and liaising with the parish.
Sean and I raised 5 children in Dundas, and have since welcomed 2 daughters-in-law, and 4 grandsons. As a recent retiree, I am anxious to spend more time with family, but also to further serve the parish in this new role. I sincerely look forward to working with all of the wonderful volunteers of our parish, who have faithfully given of themselves during years past, and for years to come!
St. Augustine Volunteers are the heartbeat of our parish community. Volunteerism is a wonderful way to offer your time, skills, and talents, to support the various activities and functions of the church. Volunteers play a pivotal role in bringing the church’s mission and vision to life, and embody teachings of Christ through selfless giving.
Current parish ministries and groups are listed here, and on the bulletin board at the entrance of the church. If you would like to join one of them, or if you have any particular skills that may fill a niche that is not listed, please share your gifts with us! We would like to know if you have smart serve, for example, or a food handlers’ certificate; or whether you work in a trade, or have connections, and could step in and offer an opinion – the possibilities are endless!
Please contact Karen Kiely at volunteers@staugustinesparish.ca, or at the parish office, 905-628-2880.
